In order to improve the socio economic condition of people of KBK Districts, Government has taken effective steps to provide better connectivity as well as to improve existing roads. Works Department has been entrusted to take up road connectivity Program under RLTAP from the year 2001-02. Most of the roads in KBK Districts pass through extremist affected areas and connect Andhra Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Due to traffic intensity, continuous heavy down pour and flash floods in Hilly Terrain, the roads in the KBK Districts show signs of distress and develop heavy depression as well as number of pot-holes. Some missing links disconnect one place from another. Priority has been given to connect those by constructing bridges on missing links. The scheme has been delinked by Government of India since 2015-16. However, after persuasion by State Government, Government of India has provided balance fund of Rs.70.00 crore which was programmed up to 12th Five year Plan period . Accordingly, during 2017-18, budget provision of Rs.70.00 has been made for 1 no.ongoing bridge, 2 nos of new bridges, , 6nos ongoing road project and 23 new roads. It is targeted to complete 2 nos. of bridge projects and to improve 50 km of road length during the financial year, 2017-18.
