Due to considerable increase in the traffic in Urban areas, it has become imperative to reduce congestion of traffic by widening and strengthening of said roads along with improvement of junctions to the satisfaction of users. The people from different rural pockets in the suburb areas of the ULB depend on Urban areas where the basic amenities are available. Development of these roads will provide smooth and better accessibility to the Urban area & also reduce traffic congestion. State Government has introduced a new scheme for improvement of Urban roads taken over from H&U.D Department during the current year. This scheme proposes for the improvement of already taken over roads from H&U.D Department & roads to be taken over. Till 2016-17, ULB roads covering a length of 1000 Km have been taken over from H&U.D Department for improvement & 510.00Km has been improved to PWD Standard. The Balance 490Km will be improved to PWD Standard.
