In order to provide better focus on management of road sector, Government in Works Department put in place Core Road Network(CRN) system pertaining to roads having high traffic density, economic & tourism importance and such other roads catering mining and industrial areas of the State. Government have declared 31 no. of roads covering 1610.250km as Core Road Network (CRN) vide Works Department, Government of Odisha Notification No.2669 dt.27.02.2009.

During 2017-18,there is budget provision of Rs.20.00 Crore for 1No.ongoing Bridge,6Nos. of road projects and 1No. of new road project &3Nos. of new Bridge projects.There is target for completion of 1No. bridge & improvement of of 10.00Km of road length.
